Feb 17th 2015 purchased an engine control module preprogrammed to the vin & mileage for a 97 dodge dakota 5.2 v8 automatic. original problem was no 5v ref to tp, map, cmp or ckp sensors which created a crank no start condition. first ecm received didn't fire fuel injectors 7&8. (like it was made for the v6) since it came in as a no start proceeded w/ diagnostics which led to ecu. (circuit & injectors ohms tested nicely). called acr & they promptly sent me a new ecu which fired all 8 cylinders... but, wouldn't shift transmission. diagnoses again... ecu. called acr again, another ecu promptly shipped. same problem, no transmission relay activation by ecu. wondered if the 6cyl ecu would shift transmission and since not firing the injectors won't flood engine w/ fuel. tried it... activated trans relay just fine and trans shifted nicely. called acr again, & in the exchange accidently sent me 2 ecu's, one of which still had same problem (trans relay) but the 5th, yes 5 ecu's later fired all 8 cylinders & activated the trans relay. but had trouble controlling idle speed w/ code set. which once again diagnostics led to ecu. this time however acr wanted me to send that one back in so they can look at it. determine what action they wanted to take and send it back. this is the point at which i purchased a used pcm & purchased a pass through device to match the vin & mileage myself to get the customer by while i send this back it to acr so they can maybe see how their unable to provide a quality product. oh yeah, i asked for a refund... acr said no! this all happened back in feb 2015 and it's now sept 2015 & the used ecu is still operating the dakota just fine and i haven't wanted to spend the money to send the ecu back to acr. why? so i can install it in the vehicle it was intended for and maybe it'll work. my comment... all computer resources, inc. is pathetic and should be ashamed of themselves. resolution... sure, return money spent on this ecu sitting on my shelf taking up space that i know won't control idle speed.
