Went to buy some flowers to take out to my father at the cemetery. As always, the stems are a little long to fit in the urn, so I asked the guy working in the floral area if I could get the length trimmed a bit (and if I could also get a ribbon around it). I was then told that that if he even touched the flowers he would have to charge me 1.7 times the cost of the $8.00 flowers (so $13.60). I said this had never happened in the past, and he said it's been done wrong in the past.
So, by now I had become suspicious, so I said I'd take them without the trimming or the ribbon. I then asked if I could pay for them there or if he'd have to charge me extra for that. He said I could pay for them there. So after I paid for them I asked if I could get a packet of preservative (as I've also always done) or if I'd have to pay extra for that as well. He said I could have the preservative for free, but that he didn't appreciate my snide comments. Then he asked if I thought he should do this for free - does this mean King Soopers isn't paying him? I think not. Anyway, I told him he wouldn't have to worry about my "snide comments" anymore, because I wouldn't be shopping at King Soopers anymore. I also called and talked to the assistant manager and let him know I would not be shopping there anymore as well. He said he understood, but that he was going to talk to the employee anyway. Fat chance...
