Flower Clothing Quality and terrible (unstated) return policy

I ordered two shirts and the quality is questionable at best. The fabric is like a thin fabric shower curtain equivalent. Not at all representative of their posted pictures.

When I emailed to request a return, per their policy, I was told return shipping is buyer’s responsibility - overseas to China from US. It would cost me no less than $60 to return with no tracking info - which is required. Nowhere on their site does it state overseas company with expensive returns back to China at buyer’s expense.

What a shame.

I’m now stuck with two shirts that are unwearable and out the purchase price.I’d appreciate a response and alternative for return/refund.

Desired outcome: A domestic address (I don’t mind paying reasonable return shipping) and refund.

I agree…..

But I spent the $ to return to China…. I could have predicted the outcome as I was pulled in by a facebook ad. This is company is a scam! Cheated me of $87 plus the $25 to return it to China. Items were nothing like the cute photos. Extremely poor fit and quality!

I have the mail confirmation that the package has been sitting in customs since April ‘22 and they haven’t claimed it as they have an issue of non compliance with China customs.

Do not deal with these people!

Flower Clothing product dress customer service

Recently spent $800 with flower through a layby...the shop assistant Connie insured me I could swap sizes if needed. I had recently had a baby and thought great my size would no doubt become smaller! I payed my layby off to find out that there Was a item I needed to change. Connie herself and co worker basically laughed in my face and told me there policy was 10 days after purchase, no exchange would happen. I now know they would say anything for a sale!
Just to add fule to the fire they had a sale the day after I took my layby home, but insured me they never have sales! And it was just my bad luck!
Wore there sweater style winter dress twice and it moulted all over my house! So took it back and was awaiting a response! How lucky was I to receive a call from Wendy at head office...she has to be the rudest person I've ever dealt with!
Talking down to me, and stating consumer affairs policy's right off the bat!
Unfortunately she doesn't understand what she is saying and twists the actual policy's...ending in a credit note!
Why would I ever want to shop here again, poor clothing, apauling customer service and a total joke are there so called policy's and procedures!
Would never recommend them ever

Flower Clothing Customer Service

I am somewhat consoled to hear that other people have had bad experiences with Flower Clothing.
I have spent a lot of money on their beautiful clothes over the years, but the online customer service is disgusting.

I neede to return a few items I'd purchased online as they didn't suit me. I asked the local store if I could return them there and was told that I could. So the next week I took them in and was told that I had been wrongly informed and I would have to post them back.
Then I got sick and couldn't get to the post office. Finally when I returned the items I was about ten days outside of the eligible return date. I enclosed a letter explaining the morning misunderstanding and asked for consideration - perhaps they could give me a credit as I would surely buy something else.

Angela Skinner emailed back and said no and they would post back the items to me for free, but no credit! Thanks a lot! I had spent $20 returning them anyway.
So now I have $400 worth of clothes I cannot use. I cannot return. And am just stuck with them.

I have since written 2 more emails to Angela - I cannot find a contact for head office and gave re wives no more replies.

I have vowed never to buy another item from them.

Other online shopping sites like Ezibuy value their customers and are quick to help and answer all correspondence.

So Angela Skinner you have not done your company any favour by pushing away a loyal customer.

Flower Clothing Sales Ladies

As much as i love this shop and it's clothing, i am inclined to avoid going inside because of the attitude of the sales ladies: very pushy! Even when i peer in the doorway i am "assaulted" with recommendations and reasons why i should absolutely buy this or that. When i do venture inside and look around i am shown items of clothing that will "go with this or that". And when i protest that a certain colour does not suit me, i am given protestations of all sorts and shown even more unsuitable items. This is so very irritating. All i want is to be left alone until i seek assistance. This is impossible at most Flower stores. However, i must mention that the Karrinyup store is different. For now...

Flower Clothing Breaches Australian Consumer Law

I would not recommend any of the clothing from Flower Clothing. Their garments are extremely poor quality and not fit for the purpose they are sold for. I spent nearly $800 in one visit and from this ended up with a dress which had to be returned twice due to poor stitching, trousers that don't sit properly and have to keep pulling them up and a grey top which after 5 months had stitching coming away in 4 places.

I returned the top and despite asking for for a full refund, Flower decided to repair the garment and now the underlay is showing so the garment is unwearable. The answer from Head Office is that they followed Flowers Policies and Procedures.

Flower Clothing fail to recognise my rights under the Australian Consumer Act. I have a top I can no longer wear and I am now having to pursue further action by taking this matter, as a first step, to Department of Commerce, to obtain a refund for the $100 top.

My advice is stay away from this company and their clothing. There is better quality clothing available and companies that do not break the law by ignoring your consumer rights.

Flower Clothing Appalling shopping experience

I purchased a belt from one of Flower Clothing's Sydney stores. It broke the first time I wore it. It was obvious from the construction of the belt that this was a design fault-the metal decorative piece at the front of the belt sheared through the thin leather straps holding it in place. I returned it to the store from which I bought it and was offered a replacement or a store credit. I didn't want either as it was obvious the same thing would happen again. Also, there was nothing else I wanted to buy. However, I was told I was not entitled to a refund and was consistently refused one. I spoke to Wendy in the store's Head Office in Perth and was met with absolute rudeness, a total lack of professionalism and very poor customer relation skills. I took the matter to the Department of Fair Trading and was advised I was entitled to a refund on the grounds that the belt was not fit for purpose. Still I was refused a refund. I could have taken the matter to court but decided it wasn't worth the trouble. No doubt this is what the company relies on. However, their poor after sales service, woeful customer relations and poorly trained staff ensure that neither I nor any of my friends will shop at Flower Clothing again. An appalling shopping experience with breathtakingly arrogant behaviour on behalf of the staff I encountered, particularly in their Head Office.

Is this company still a viable business? The Flower Clothing website has only old summer stock at sale prices and no "New Arrivals" listed.

Your experience at Flower does not surprise me. I once bought a silk jacket from this store - amazing I thought a quality item among all the crushed up rubbish! After one wear the sleeve seam split. When I returned the jacket I was told they could do nothing about it I must have bought the jacket a size too small. I had in fact bought the next size up because I never feel comfortable in tight clothing.

Flower Clothing Dress on Lay By - Will not refund money

I put a a layered tunic for $99.95 on lay by with a $50.00 deposit on Saturday 27th October at the Marion store. On Monday I rang to say that I would like to cancel my lay by, which I was told that I could only get a credit note not my money back.. I said that since I had not taken the article why could I not just cancel my lay by and have my money returned like any other store. The reply was that I would have to pay out the rest of the amount (another $50.00) then I would be given a credit note for that amount $100.00, not a credit note for $50.00, but for the full amount even though I have not taken the dress out of the store..I tried to explain how that is fair but no reason but that I would have one way or another still pay for $100 for something from their store.. I am not very happy and this is the first time I have had where they will not refund my money for a lay by .. As I told the person will never buy anything from Flower stores again..

Flower Clothing Shocking Treatment

I purchased a dress around Easter at a shop called Flower Clothing and after wearing it only 3 times the material ripped when I lifted my arm about a week ago. I phoned Head Office and told them what happend and that I didn't have the slip anymo...re they said it was fine and I returned the dress to the store on Monday. I received a call from the Operations Manager names Wendy who demanded that I find a bank statement with proof of payment (not sure what happens if I paid cash) or else she will not process this query. I explained that I bought it around Easter and did not have the slip anymore and that I had advised Head Office of this during the previous discussion. Wendy spoke to me in a very familiar way and then told me that she would call back when I "had a change of heart" and slammed the phone down on me! Yet I am the customer who purchased something which has turned out to be poor quality. I then phoned back and asked to speak to a manager they said that Wendy was on the line and I then explained that Wendy was the person who I was complaining about - I spoke to the Line Manager who did not think anything of Wendy slamming phone's down on customers and also wanted to know why I know longer had the slip. Yet on Flowers website they say that Customer Service is very important to them. They are not keen to refund me for their poor quality merchandise that I have barely worn and never even offered to meet me half way as I know longer have the slip. I wonder if they get lots of these calls and this is why they refuse to pay...

Just had an experience with flower clothing that i would like to share . I was going to buy some used mannequins from this company that were advertised for sale on the web .After driving for 2 hours to pick them up when i arrived i was informed that the price advertised was wrong and that they would be triple the price quoted if i wanted them .They were second hand damaged mannequins and he wanted almost a new price for them . No wonder there are so many complaints about that company if this is how they operate .And if this is how the boss does business no wonder he has been bankrupt before.

I was just about to apply for a job there but I think I will reconsider. I have worked for the Managing Director before and he is not a very nice person. The company went bankrupt too, so maybe he is not a very good business man either

It was even worse working for them! I had to take them to fair work because they underpaid me and fair work sided with me, but Flower Clothing STILL didn't pay! My only other recourse was to take them to Court which wasn't worth my while. They don't look after their staff either.
I have nothing good at all to say about them!

Wow, so many problems, looks like I am just one more.
Damage to shirt after 3 wears.. stitching failing in at least two areas
I have emailed but hav not had a reply yet, but sound like I won't get anywhere... how sad
Guess I won't be going back either

I can't believe these comments. I shop at Flower every time I visit Australia. I have loads of their clothes, have worn and washed them to death and nothing has ever fallen apart. I find the ladies in every store I have been in to be fantastic and very helpful. I will be in Australia again later this year and I will be visiting Flower.

I have bought a lot of clothing from flower over the years despite the quality and prices not up to par but as I am tall I need the length. I recently bought a top for my mom who was overseas on holiday. She did not like it so it remained in the bag untried with all the tags. I took it back in for a credit some 2 weeks later.I was rudely informed that I could not change it due to a 10 day return limit. I have my own business and this woman was so arrogant I had to really contain my temper. There was no discussion just No..I have my own business and my staff and myself would never have behaved in such a dismissive way.i assured her I would never shop here again...garden city flower..her departing words were..ok no worries...charming...!, !

OMG I cant believe Ive happened across this about flower clothing. I bought a dress from there for $140 around April/may which proved to be faulty when i got it home, the tie strap at the front came out as did one I tried on in store on a different dress, same style. So I returned it to Marion store, SA. (next day) They would not refund me ! The woman (cant remember her name) at head office in perth refused to refund me. Eventually after about a month they posted me a credit note for $140. I have just spent it today hence my message on here. Prior to the problem I had bought quite a lot of clothing from there and loved it all. I can see they have 2 styles mainly the polyester /crinkle fabric and the cotton clothing. Personally I find their cotton clothing quite poor quality. Anyway I only went in today to spend what was owed to me. I will not be going back ever ! As basically they dont guarantee their quality. ie. If something is obviously faulty, like this was a channeled belt came out and was not stitched properly inside, a full refund should be offered, this is proper customer service. See I was a regular customer and now I will never ever go back, because I cannot be confident of a refund if an item is faulty and also there is now bad feeling and overall not a pleasant experience. Flower clothing ! this kind of treatment and attitude does not work ! It does not build strong and loyal customers, sorry good bye.

I've only ever had good experiences shopping at Flower so I'm surprised by these comments. I shop at the Karrinyup store sometimes and have mostly always found something nice (which I find hard sometimes being size 18 but not wanting to shop at the plus size stores!). I've found some flattering clothes that even my husband has liked on me too!

Agreeing with these comments. Each purchase so far has been a disaster. Definitely do not buy with ANY intention of exchanging. Left me in tears probably more through dismay at the attitude of the assistant. Clothes are pretty boring anyway. Was trying some classic lines. Oh yes - good luck trying to unsubscribe from their mailing list. Still trying after 6 months. Plenty of other fab stores out there - think I'll stick to recycled to keep the planet turning. Jen

Lodged a complaint with the Department of Commerce and Flower Clothing have refused to issue a refund. The garment was of poor quality to start off with and was falling apart in four separate areas.

The repair they then completed was not done with due skill and care and now the underlay is showing making it 100% unwearable.

Flower Clothing remove any postings on their FB page they do not like and then block your ability to add anything further.

Be very careful when dealing with this company. Me...I am progressing my case to the Perth Magistrates Court and commencing Civil Action.
