General Electric Garbage company that doesn't stand by their product

Bought a water boiler 3 years ago. Said I had a warranty for 6 years. Tank went and was verified by a plumber. Called GE and told I would have to pay for one of their plumbers to come out. Told their are no plumbers for the state of NJ?
So I would have to pay a plumber to come out from NY?
So basically if you live anywhere on the entire east coast except NY you are screwed.
NEVER NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!

4 year old fridge is not repairable. For over two years the Ice, water and freezer light have failed together intermittently, failing more frequently until now when they don't work at all. We have replaced the main control board, the display board and the freezer switch and nothing has rectified it. The repair professional is out of ideas unless there is a bad wire which is highly unlikely.

Bought the above appliance from Rona in March 2024. April 2025 while dryer was operating there was a very loud cracking sound. The glass door of the dryer sprung a crack out of nowhere. It is almost clear across from one side to next by May 19, 2025. It was not hit nor mishandled. Why did it crack? Is this model defective? Need repair ASAP. Currently still working and drying. Isn't it dangerous to operate though?

Ge profile wall oven the inner glass. Has exploded twice now and we bought 5 years warranty which is up in April. The ge products are trash, we had a ge surface top oven and warranty company didn’t pay us a penny because they say they done cover physical damage. Does not dry the clothes. Gets a little warm, bran new dryer. 2-14-2025 Tried even running the towel drying cycle but the same thing happens. General Electric Ge 2.0 cuft full size microwave

I purchased the above referenced microwave from Purchasing Power on April 26, 2024. Serial number A2202758L Model#JES2051SN5SS. My case #[protected]. I paid $445 before taxes.

I was told to buy a microwave and I would be reimbursed. I was told a voucher would be sent to me for the microwave. I did purchase another GE microwave locally from Best Buy a smaller version, which I will be returning.

When I received the voucher I see that I will only be reimbursed for the amount that I paid for a new one, which is way less than I paid originally. If I would have bought the same one I still would have paid less than what I originally paid. It did not seem right to me so I sent an email asking why I was not getting a full refund or replacement because my microwave could not be repaired sincer there are no replacement parts available for my microwave.

I called today to speak with an agent because I still have not gotten a response to my email. I again asked why I was not getting a full replacement or at the very least an exact exchange replacement for the unit. I should not have had to pay out of pocket. The agent explained to me that the only recourse was a voucher and you will only pay for the cost of the new one and I have to follow the specific instructions. So basically I lose the money I have originally paid. I have never heard of such a thing. I did not even have the microwave for a year. I do not understand this at all. I will also be returning the new GE microwave I purchased and it seems it is already starting to have issues. I will be purchasing another brand. Especially for the customer service I received. Your return policy is misleading for the warranty.

Claimed loss: Could not send me a new microwave of equal value, No parts to repair unit so it is unrepairable.

Desired outcome: I would like a full refund of my original purchase. I have included my purchase agreement.

It’s completely understandable why you’re frustrated with General Electric’s handling of your microwave issue. After paying $445 for the unit and being told you'd be reimbursed, only to receive a voucher for less than what you originally paid, it feels like you’re being shortchanged. It’s especially upsetting that the microwave was less than a year old and couldn’t be repaired due to the lack of replacement parts.

The fact that you’ve had to pay out of pocket for a new one, and now even that replacement is starting to show issues, only adds to the frustration. GE’s policy on reimbursing only the cost of a new, lower-priced model doesn’t seem fair, especially since you were told you’d be fully compensated. It’s disappointing that customer service hasn’t been more helpful in resolving the situation.

Hopefully, returning the new microwave and purchasing another brand gives you better peace of mind, but GE should definitely reconsider how they handle warranty replacements, especially when customers are left out of pocket for a product that failed so quickly. If you haven’t already, it might be worth escalating your case to GE’s higher-level customer service or looking into consumer protection avenues.

General Electric GE refusing to honor warranty and service tech issues

Purch Brandsmrt Their tech said call GE.GE tech says wash the dishes first and then use dishwasher. He left and did nothing.

GE service calls me and said I have roaches and they cannot come back with a exterminator certifying no roaches. A big LIE Maid, workers in my house will swear GE TECH rude, never mention any roaches and this is lie.

General Electric ge electric dryer

purchased model #GTD42EASJ2WW, serial #ZS512672C installed on 2022/03/02 and now the dryer won't heat-up, will tumble but no heat! so this dryer only lasted me 1yr, 9m and 25 days and that's why I'm complaining. Is it possible that this dryer was defected when purchased? I paid around $700 dollars for the dryer. To fixed the dryer will cost $300-$400 I've never experience any bad products with GE in this short length of time...Hopefully you can assist me with this problem. I have a repair appt., on Feb 5, 2024 between hrs. 1-5pm

11/29/2023 Purchased new GE Profile Refrigerator costing $2500. Delivered 12/6/2023. Right out of the box, the water/ice dispenser is not working. Service technician arrived on 12/8 and ordered new water valve. Returned on 12/14 to install new valve. Doesn't work. Now I am waiting for a brand new fridge and wondering if I made a mistake purchasing a GE product.

General Electric GE washer GFW148SSMWW, serial no. MV335718N

I bought the washer 6 weeks ago, and have used it only 2-3 times per week. Today it failed in the middle of a load. The error code indicated a problem beyond anything the user can solve. I called the store where I bought it, and they can't do anything to help, other than call the GE technician scheduler. They say that they are forbidden by GE to swap out the defective machine with a new one, and they don't have one in stock. I spent hours today trying to talk to GE customer service, various telephone numbers and website, calls dropped, uninformative telephone robot gate-keepers, long waits on hold, contact web links that don't work. I talked with 3 GE employees, and none of them could do a thing to help. They can't get a technician out in a timely manner (more than 2 weeks for the earliest appointment) and they refuse to consider replacing the washer until the technician has declared it to be "irrepairable." In the meantime, I have no washer at least for several weeks, maybe longer. All I want is for them to replace the defective washer with a new one that works, and do so immediately. It is unreasonable for a machine to fail so soon, and to make customers wait for weeks with no promise of any satisfactory solution. Why can't they just take back the faulty machine and return it to the factory to be refurbished, and give me a functioning machine, which is what I paid for?

General Electric New ge profile refrigerator

Hello. I purchased new ge appliances on sept 4th from sylman brothers in st. Louis. Everything was installed on sept 18th - new refrigerators/freezer; oven/microwave combo; dishwasher.

The refrigerator water dispense has never worked. I've had 4 water filters, 3 service calls with nec tech repair, new parts installed, and it still doesn't work. Nec ordered more parts today.

I had a 24 year old ge profile refrigerator freezer that never had any issues. I'm so disappointed and not confident that it will be fixed with the 4th service call. I got a lemon or just an inferior product. I can't put a stop on payment as I already made a full payment on my credit card.

I'd like to file a claim for a replacement and would appreciate your help in next steps.

Claimed loss: New Refrigerator with a water dispenser that has never worked. As an aside, the freezer door has jammed several times and it took an emergency call to my home warranty provider to come fix it asap.

General Electric Range Model JBS86SP5SS

On November 11, 2023 I took delivery of a new range (see model above). As always I looked for the Owners instruction manual. It wasn't with the Range. I attempted to download the manual on the GE web site. The instructions were minimal as how to download any of their manuals. I gave up after a while and on my own I finally figured out how to set the clock (and no, it wasn't self explanatory). This is a relatively complex appliance but it can be (by trial & error) made to work properly. I have bought a number of appliances and never had a problem in downloading the owners instruction manual. GE needs to improve it's manuals website. If it's meant for the manuals to be downloaded the instructions should be very clear. If it's meant to sell the manuals, it should spell it out.

I purchased a refrigerator from home depot on 10/27/2023. I spent 1,949.56. I have not received the refrigerator yet. I was told at first it would be delivered 11/04/2023, then I was later informed after the money was spent that the refrigerator would be delivered 11/11/2023. This is not right I have spent nearly 2,000. Order id h0563-434949. I really need someone to look into this because if the tables were turned homedepot/general electric would want their money.

General Electric ge profile refrigerator

Our GE Profile Refrigerator, which is almost 18 months old, failed due to a compressor failure. I find it hard to believe that a brand-new refrigerator can only last ALMOST 18 months before it had a major failure. When I asked the technician about the quality of the GE refrigerator, he mentioned that they are having many compressor issues. So, my caution is that buyer beware. The GE Profile refrigerator that I bought didn't last 18 months. If that is their definition of quality, then you should look at some other supplier. Their limited warranty covers 12 months. It's hard to believe that those of us that buy a refrigerator expect it to last only 12 months. Fortunately, I bought an extended warranty (at my cost) to cover the very poor and unacceptable quality of the GE product. Lessened learned, DON'T BUY GE products! ! ! ! ! !

General Electric washing machine

This is a GTW465ASN3WW, MT111693G

I have had this washing machine for a little over a year. Ive had two service repair calls to this machine because it spins out of balance on almost all loads. This machine actually "walks" about 4 inches from its position during the spin cyce. The service tech says there is nothing wrong with it. I don't know what else to do about this machine. I hate it.

Desired outcome: REPAIR and or stabilize so that it will spin clothes without damaging my walls and floor.

I am writing regarding the two aforementioned GE appliances which I purchased in September 2017 (delivered only in December 2017). I must express my dissatisfaction with both of these appliances. I have been experiencing problems with my refrigerator for the past few months. The fan does not seem to be working properly in that the bottom drawer in fridge is freezing and the rest of the fridge is not cooling. I have once before unplugged the fridge for a period of 24-48 hours and then reconnected it and it seemed to have resolved the issue. However I am now experiencing the same issue and this time the problem is persisting.

Regarding the range, I have also been experiencing problems for a little over a year. The oven and burners both give me problems in that although I turn them on to a set temperature, the connection does not hold, the oven and burners turn off. I usually do this repeatedly until the connection finally holds.

I am very disappointed in both these products especially considering that I have spent over $6,000.00 and I have not had a satisfactory service from either one. I know GE to be a reputable company with quality products hence my decision years ago to purchase both these GE appliances. However, I must express how disappointed I am with the quality of both these products for which I spent a lot of money. It is very frustrating for me that I am left to my own to figure out how to fix these issues at an additional cost to what I have already spent on same. I am reaching out to GE for some resolution to my persisting problems with both of these appliances. I have spent a lot of money on these appliances and they should not be breaking down after only a few years. I know GE has good appliances but I must say my experience with both these appliances has left me with a very different opinion.

Desired outcome: I would like for GE to provide with a solution to my problems by fixing same and I do not believe that I should be incurring the cost for the repaid of these appliances.
